ABOUT ME
I was born in the Netherlands, grew up in Massachusetts, recently lived a few years in New Mexico, and even more recently moved to beautiful Moab, Utah!
I earned my BFA in Jewelry & Metalsmithing at Massachusetts College of Art & Design in 2016, and have been working professionally in fine art framing, woodworking, and art education since graduating. Now, I am working hard to build my own frame shop from the ground up, after a decade of working in the industry.
My partner and I and our sweet tabby cat moved to Moab this fall, after I enjoyed every moment of the Creative Reuse Residency at the Moab Arts Center in August 2024 - an opportunity I am so grateful to have been selected for. The nature, activities, community, and history of this geologically bizarre spot on the planet really spoke to me. I wanted to be a part of it all! So, we found new accommodations and employment, had some goodbye parties, and moved up here a few weeks later. I am looking forward to continuing my art practice here, while launching AVA Frames, and playing outside every day.
